We work with some of the leading designers in the West and can offer unique solutions in the use of reclaimed wood in your project. CAD design, 3D rendering, and production drawing services are available for our customers.
Engineering, consulting and contracting for your project can be offered for projects in our local market.

Custom Milling & Millwork

Second Wind Timber completes all aspects of your order in house so we have excellent control over scheduling. Our reclaimed timber can be resawn to produce a number of sustainable architectural wood products.

Reclaimed wood is especially hard on the tools, knives, blades, chains and chisels. We have plenty of experience in this department. All timber goes through a vigorous process of removing all nail, metal detecting, and wire brushing prior to being introduced to any fancy tools. Most mills will not go near reclaimed wood for fear of metal but we have trust in our dedicated crew.
After proper cleaning, we can process your timber to your specifications.

Custom Joinery

We can organize your entire timber frame package - cut to rough dimension then S4S to finished dimension. We can take your design and cut all joinery on CNC timber machinery.

Custom Sawmilling

Second Wind Timber operates a band sawmill for custom cutting timber to your exact specifications. Timber can be ordered as-is, rough sawn, S4S and pressure washed.
Surfacing/Planing
Our 4 head planer molder produces accurate t&g reclaimed flooring, decking, casing and baseboard. We can plane timbers up to 12”x20”
Kiln Drying

We operate a kiln for drying all of our reclaimed flooring and millwork stock to under 10% moisture content prior to molding.

 

Dismantling

We actively pursue buildings that are sources of reclaimed timber for our projects. We offer professional dismantling services and meet or exceed all aspects of the WCB regulations. Every project is engineered for safe work and dismantling procedures. We have worked on high profile sites in the past that involved safety programs that exceeded local regulations, such as:
